Vince Guaraldi :: ‘Joe Cool’
I could not love this more if you paid me in diamonds and unicorns.
In his latest post, the Aquarium Drunkard brings us a couple cuts from Lost Cues From The Charlie Brown Television Specials. Guaraldi is, of course, the Peanuts composer/genius behind the “Linus and Lucy” theme. But his ’70s soundtrack fare is, it turns out, just as brilliant. I’m loving how deceptively light and funky a song like “Joe Cool” has such an intricate, gorgeous horn arrangement. Bonus: Guaraldi sings! Nicely! His vocals are right out of the mellow hipster Mose Allison/Galt McDermot school.
This is just wonderful.

Also. Mustache.
