this has been sitting in my drafts for a while now. i kind of can’t get over this image, mostly for all the questions it raises. to wit:

• is it an oil painting? or a photo? 
• what is that shaggy rug-chair thing she’s lying on? 
• is she on a balcony? 
• she looks wasted and/or kind of irritated and/or oily and maybe a little uncomfortable. 
• hips!
• you would never see this body type (is that marilyn or not? it’s marilyn, right?) in any advertising anywhere today, which is crazy because it’s perfect and amazing.
